SXSW transforms downtown Austin into an experiential media mecca. While I was there for only two days, it was enough to get the gist and know next time I’ll stay longer for the music portion. Luckily, I rented a car and was able to experience some live music thanks to awesome radio stations like KUTX. It wasn’t as crowded as anticipated (I was thinking lolla for techies), but there were still lines to get into much of the badge-only areas. I didn’t have a badge this go round, but was able to experience and glide into some fun.
I mainly went for the world premiere of Signature Move film, Newcity’s first feature-length endeavor. I’ve been fortunate to design along by working on the branding, film titles and some movie props (more on that work, process and parties forthcoming). So before I sit on these fest images too long, here’s a collection of shots starting from my first survival of an airbnb through to the last night at a secluded hideaway on Lake Travis.
