Alright, it’s settled. I love shooting the desert in black and white. Perhaps I’m hesitant to capture the magnificence of the orange and blues as a way to preserve that feeling I get each time I return to the dust. Or perhaps it’s my inclination to recall our time spent within its merciless beauty as a film noir. Santa Fe, New Mexico was no exception. Something told us to visit, but we had no idea it would be a glorious town of pueblos, art and music. It’s also the first city we’ve encountered where the arts dominate. A truly inspiring place. We stayed two days after planning on only passing through.
Santa Fe
Don’t keep us
away she moves
along the horizon
beyond the moon
red barren land
crushed into sand
not a day too soon
returning for the food.
